"Taylor"
"Taylor" is a 12 year old Shepherd Mix that has the most wonderful expressions. She claims the leather couch for her own. Taylor normally shares the couch with her two sisters but when guests come over she's been known to make a little room for them too. The piece is created in a mixed media of watercolor and pen & ink.
"Jumping for Joy"
"Jumping for Joy" is the latest from the artist. The painting was done with washes of vibrant watercolor. The wave was created by masking fluid to block out the color. The trickles and droplets of water from the killer whale were done by hand scraping the color from the canvas.
"Pillowtalk"
"Pillowtalk" is done in a mixed media of Watercolor and Pen & Ink. The cats portrayed are Marbles and Munchie. Some have commented that the artist mistakenly painted the cat's paw with too many toes. In reality, Munchie is a Polydactyl, a six toe kitty. This unique characteristic is rumored to be from the descendants of the "Hemingway Cats."
The Artist
Su is a self-taught artist that specializes in pen & ink stippling and watercolor. She has been drawing and painting since before she can even remember. Her passion for animals and architecture is portrayed in her work.
In 2001, Su had the opportunity to work with Joe Carnahan, who wrote and directed the movie "NARC". She worked very closely with Joe and the starring cast to portray his vision on Storyboard. While working on the film, Su was also comissioned by actor Ray Liotta to do a portrait of his beloved pet.
Su's artistic talents include pen & ink, pencil, watercolor, personal collages, custom framing, stained glass & graphic design. Su is available by commission for pet portraits in pen & ink or watercolor and custom framed collages for special occasions.
